Extraordinary safety comes standard.

Your safety has always been a priority at Mercedes-Benz. The 2015 Sprinter continues that tradition by providing segment-leading passive and active safety systems as standard equipment on every model. The Sprinter Van also offers optional safety packages that are industry firsts for commercial vehicles. At Mercedes-Benz, we do all of this to help make your driving experience as safe as possible.

The Load-Adaptive Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with Trailer Stability Assist is standard on all Sprinter Van models. As the only van in its segment that features standard Load-Adaptive ESP, the Sprinter helps you perform your job with greater safety and less worry. This dynamic handling control system actively intervenes to help ensure your Sprinter stays firmly under your control.

Crosswind Assist
Continuing our heritage as the industry's safety leaders, the Sprinter Van introduces Crosswind Assist® as a new standard feature on the 2015 Sprinter. Sudden, unexpected crosswinds can sometimes cause a vehicle to leave its driving lane. At speeds over 50 mph, gentle, course-correcting brake application quickly intervenes to stabilize your Sprinter Van in strong, gusting crosswinds.

Passive safety systems include:
- Three-point seat belt on every seat
- Driver and front passenger seats with Emergency Tensioning Retractors (ETRs) and belt force limiters
- Standard front airbags
- Optional thorax and window airbags
Post-crash protection includes:
- Electrical fuel pump and stationary heater switched off (depending on crash severity)
- The driver and passenger doors unlocked, windows opened by two inches
- Four-way hazard warning system switched on
